Everything's cool, just chilling at Ford Shepherd's place for a week or so until my pal and I are ready to move into the new place.
Just using his laptop at the moment, so don't expect me to be aware of things going on in the next week or so, just clearing out messages and keeping in touch with a couple folks at the moment.
Today was my second day of work at the store I transferred to, and I gotta say it's been great lately! Everyone is friendly and awesome. However, the store is very high shrink (many shoplifters), of which I am not used to at all, but really, I see that as the ONLY challenge.
EVERYTHING... about this store, and district, is different than my old area.
In a good way.
I'm just about in heaven, peeps.
However, not to be pessimistic, but, I am sure there are things that will irk me eventually. Requesting off for cons, for example, just dunno how it's going to play out. We'll see.
I'll give more details later. I'm safe, and I hope all-a y'all are too.
However.
There is something else I should mention.
I feel like a burden staying here for a week, even though I was permitted, there has to be something I can do or express to make it acknowledged that I really, really appreciate it. I wasn't about to say "Oh, I can't start work 'til December even though I promised you guys I could start a week and a half earlier," just because the house's date was delayed by a week.
I am also feeling that, regardless of visiting Columbus 14 times this year since February, I am having a very difficult time adjusting to be "one of the furs here," I haven't been able to hold a conversation with anyone except Jack.
For some reason, I think I'm going to have to try to somehow earn my "place" here to fit in, and for some reason, I think it's going to be difficult.
I'm just a weird guy. I love attention and I love it when people go out of their way to start conversations with me because I'm immediately aware that they care about me to whatever level. I haven't been social at all the first couple nights here, and there have been plenty of folks over, in and out, to chat with. I kinda tried tonight and I feel like I failed, so I just headed back up to the room I'm sharing and dicked around.
Everyone here knows everyone, and all I really want to do is be able to chat with everyone else like they do between 'em all.
I'm also pretty sad because I pissed someone off and they're still pretty peeved at me... they live here now pretty much too, and if everyone's going to be be going to folks' houses and events, I am sure we will be bumping into each other plenty of times. All I want is peace, though.
Really, I can't get that out of my mind. It's pretty annoying when that's almost always on my mind, bringing me down, and yet there isn't anything to do about it because they still don't want to talk with me. I guess I'll just keep waiting.
And no, I don't miss PA. |

Moving on -- literally.
In 12 hours, I'll be on my way to Columbus. If you're still in the dark, I'm moving there!!
I'm storing things at a friend's house, then taking Twitch to MFF with me. Six days of no work, and a kickass weekend. We return to Columbus Monday evening. I stay at my friend's place for a week to two weeks until the head of the new household and I get settled in the new house (supposedly not available until December 1)...
I start my transfer on Tuesday, so I'll still very much be at work. Here's to it going smoothly.
I won't be actively online for two to three weeks. I'll only use friends' laptops to check in on things here and there.

I found out where I'll be working. I start on Tuesday, will be pretty exciting. It'll be neat to have a male boss again. Also, the DM there always answers his phone. That's... pretty pleasant, seeing as how the one here never, ever does.
Last day of work here tomorrow. It's been a wild five and a half years here, but it's time to move on. Boss said someone has a surprise for me tomorrow, so, well, can't wait to see, heh heh.
Somehow, I'll fit everything I'm taking into my car. I'm kinda prepared. I'll work it out.
And now, it seems our dog may have to be put to sleep tomorrow since he has cancer. Jeez, a lot sure does happen over the course of a nap after I wake up... I know he hasn't been himself lately, and this just absolutely sucks.
You take away Blitz, now you're taking away his father, Brook... for someone my mother has a ton of faith in, you sure are kind to her to take away two dogs way earlier than they should be taken. ¬_¬;;;;
So tomorrow should be fun. One fucking pain in the ass day, I can see it.

In case anyone misunderstood the last journal. . .
. . . I was very briefly stating how I keep acting like a weirdo each time I've tried to say goodbye to folks in Pennsylvania in the past week. I've never been good at saying goodbye to people, it's always *extremely* awkward for me, especially at conventions.
Feel like a DOUCHE. :Þ
But yeah *rubs his forehead* That was sliiiightly annoying, but, I don't have anyone to blame but myself. I made that journal rather quickly before I hopped out the door last night to go have fun and I don't expect every person to be aware that I'm moving for good in a few days, nor do I expect everyone to understand vague statements like that, hehe. I can be very misleading with text, but then, text isn't the same as talking and whatever.
And yeah, I guess it looked like an emo leaving journal, especially on FA. XD Haha. But, it's cool. |

All right, time for updates.
I'm moving out of PA on the 19th. Yes, of this month, yes, that's right. ; )
Here's the plan. I take anything that isn't a desk, bed, or TV in my car (very doable, I'm not a pack rat), store anything I'm not taking at MFF at a friend's house, drive to pick up Twitch, hit MFF, drive back to Columbus, find some friends to crash with for a week, wait until the end of the month (or the first couple days of next month) and move into the new house that Jack will be sharing with me. Then when I am prepared, my parents and my friend are going to drive out with a truck and give me anything dubbed "large", and that's it.
I start working at a store in Columbus on the 24th (I was SUPER LUCKY to nab a position there, which I had to make a decision about really promptly). Unfortunately the house closing date was delayed by a week, which is why I'll need to find a place to stay for a week because I WILL NOT tell them that I can't work 'til a week later, that is unacceptable, they are expecting me and it's almost too nice of them to wait until I move out there to work anyway!!
And that's about it!
I KNOW that December will be a VERY ROUGH month as far as adjustments. I am not flying in with the mindset of, "Omg I'm finally moving, and the moment I do, all my problems are solved!" It's going to be HARD at first, I know that damn well, and I'm prepared. What's more, working retail at the same time during the busiest month of the year for that, well I'm going to have to hang in there! But, it can and WILL be done! And then January should be cake!
I can barely wait to celebrate the new year in a new place.
